Pre-Communion Classes
This program introduces the child to the
gradual discovery of the world in the light of faith. The aim is to
help the children (Grade 1 & 2 level) slowly acquire a sense of inward
meaning in the things of their world and to discover God at the heart of
their daily experiences.
This class is a pre-requisite for Solemn Holy
Communion/Reconciliation.
Your child must attend this class if he/she
will be preparing to receive Solemn Holy Communion the following year,
2007.

Pre-Communion Parent Programme
As your child begins preparation to receive
the holy mysteries of Eucharist and Reconciliation, he/she will have
questions and will look to you for guidance. Parent sessions provide
information, inspiration and opportunity for discussion to help you and
your child grow in faith. The parents are automatically registered for
these classes when your child is enrolled in the Pre-Communion Classes.
The parent sessions are held during your
child’s class time but not as often as your child’s classes.

First
Reconciliation
Solemn Holy Communion Programme
This program is for sacramental preparation
and is required for Grade 2 children. They will learn about being
“Children of Light.” The Mystery of Reconciliation will be covered
before Christmas; the Mystery of the Eucharist, after Christmas. If
your child has not completed the Pre-Communion classes, he/she will be
required to postpone their sacramental preparation until Grade 3.

First
Reconciliation/Solemn Holy Communion
Parent Programme
As your child continues to grow in faith
through their preparations for the Holy Mysteries, he/she will continue
to need your support and guidance. These parent sessions will focus
more on the sacraments and helping your child prepare for them. You are
automatically registered for these sessions when your child is enrolled
in the First Reconciliation/Solemn Holy Communion Program.

child’s class time, but not as often as your child’s classes.

Children of Mary
Girls who are 8 years and older and have made
their Solemn Holy Communion are invited for membership (Grade 3 – 8).
The girls learn about Mary, feast days, the Rosary, and they assist in
liturgical ceremonies. The program also provides social and educational
activities.
Designated Monday evenings from 7:00 – 8:00
p.m.

Altar
Servers
Boys who are 8 years and older and have made
their Solemn Holy Communion are invited to become members (Grade 3 –
12). The boys assist our priests with liturgies. There are provisions
for social and athletic activities in their program.

Calling all youth in Grade 7 and 8. The aim
of this group is to assist in the growth issues through spiritual and
social interaction.
One Friday each month at 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. at
Bishop Murray School.

Youth/Young Adults Choir
Music Ministry aimed at high school to
post-secondary age group. We want to expand our music ministry to
include musical instruments as well as broaden the repertoire of the
choir.

U.C.Y.
(Ukrainian Catholic Youth)
A youth group in our parish from grades 9 –
12. We are involved with singing at liturgies and volunteering at
various functions within our parish. We also have spiritual retreats
and provincial youth weekends like “Winterfest”.
