PRE-COMMUNION CLASSES
Grade 1 children – This program introduces the child to the gradual discovery of the world in the light of faith. The aim is to help the child slowly acquire a sense of inward meaning in the things of their world and to discover God at the heart of their daily experiences. A pre-requisite for Solemn Holy Communion/Reconciliation. YOUR CHILD MUST ATTEND THIS CLASS IF HE/SHE WILL BE PREPARING TO RECEIVE SOLEMN HOLY COMMUNION THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
MONDAY EVENINGS 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. STARTS SEPTEMBER.
For more information, please contact Mavis at the parish office at (343-6516).
PRE-COMMUNION PARENT PROGRAM
As your child begins preparation to receive the holy mysteries of Eucharist and Reconciliation, he/she will have questions and will look to you for guidance. Parent sessions provide information, inspiration and opportunity for discussion to help you and your child grow in faith. You are automatically registered for these classes when your child is enrolled in the Pre-Communion Classes. The parent sessions are held during your child’s class time but not as often as your child’s classes. For more information, please contact Mavis at the parish office (343-6516).
First Reconciliation/Solemn Holy Communion Program
This program is for sacramental preparation and is required for Grade 2 children. They will learn about being “Children of Light.” The Mystery of Reconciliation will be covered before Christmas; the Mystery of the Eucharist, after Christmas. If your child has not completed the pre-communion classes, he/she will be required to postpone their sacramental preparation until grade 3.
MONDAY EVENINGS – 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. For more information, please contact Mavis at the parish office (343-6516). Starts in September.
Parent Program for First Reconciliation/Solemn Holy Communion
As your child continues to grow in faith through their preparations for the holy mysteries, he/she will continue to need your support and guidance. These parent sessions will focus more on the sacraments and helping your child prepare for them.
You are automatically registered for these sessions when your child is enrolled in the First Reconciliation/Solemn Holy Communion Program. The parent sessions are held during your child’s class time, but not as often as your child’s classes. For more information, please contact Mavis at the parish office (343-6516).
